Pouch cost calculator

Cans a week, or pouches a day, and the price you pay. See what the habit costs by week, month and year, and, if you built a taper plan, how the savings stack up on the way to your quit date.

How the cost calculator works

Weekly spend is cans a week times the price per can. If you count by pouches a day instead, the calculator converts: pouches a day times seven, divided by pouches per can. Monthly spend is the weekly figure times 52 divided by 12, and yearly is times 52. Nothing is estimated beyond that; the result is only as honest as the price you type.

The default price is a dated example, not a quote. As of November 2026, a single can of a 6 mg ZYN listed at $5.49 at one US online retailer (northerner.com), with lower per-can prices for bulk orders. Convenience stores charge more, and state and local tobacco taxes can push a can well past that. Type what you actually pay.

Pouches per can

Most 1.5 to 6 mg cans now hold 20 pouches, while some strengths and brands still come in 15-count cans. Count by cans if you are not sure; count by pouches a day if you are coming from the taper calculator, which works in pouches.

Savings along a taper plan

If you arrive from the taper calculator, your plan comes along in the link and the calculator prices each week of it at your price per can. The saving for a week is your current weekly spend minus that week's planned spend; the running total adds them up; and after quit day every week saves the full amount. It is a simple model: if the lower strength costs a different amount where you shop, the real number will differ a little.

Tip

Put the running total somewhere you see it. People who quit often say the money was not the reason they started but was the thing that kept them going in week three.

What the calculator is not

It is not a price comparison or a shop. It does not sell or link to pouches, it does not track you, and it is not for anyone under 21. It is a mirror: here is what the habit costs, and here is what stopping gives back.

Questions

How much does a can of Zyn cost?

It depends on the store and the state. As of November 2026, one US online retailer listed a single 6 mg can at $5.49, with lower per-can prices for bulk orders. Convenience stores and high-tax states charge more. Type your own price into the calculator.

How many pouches are in a can?

Most 1.5 to 6 mg cans now hold 20 pouches; some strengths and brands still hold 15. Check your can and pick the matching setting.

How is the monthly figure calculated?

Weekly spend times 52, divided by 12. Yearly spend is weekly spend times 52. If you count by pouches a day, the calculator first converts to cans a week using your pouches-per-can setting.

How does the savings table work?

When you arrive from the taper calculator, each planned week is priced at your price per can, subtracted from your current weekly spend, and added up. After quit day, each week saves the full weekly amount. It assumes lower strengths cost the same per can as your current one.

Does the calculator store what I type?

No. It runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded or saved by LastPouch.
